Outpost VFX
Founded in Bournemouth in 2013, Outpost VFX creates high-end visual effects for film and episodic productions, working with major Hollywood content providers such as Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount, Netflix and Amazon Studios.
The company also has offices in London, Montreal and Mumbai, and is pioneering the adoption of international cloud workflows within visual effects through its close working relationship with AWS. In 2024, the company made major strides forward in developing its own proprietary tools within the machine learning space to support future growth.
Recently, Outpost VFX has been a key visual effects partner on some of the biggest film and streaming releases of the last two years, with highlights including Wicked, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Napoleon, Star Wars: The Acolyte and Avatar: The Last Airbender. The team’s work has been recognised with award nominations from BAFTA, the Emmys and the Visual Effects Society.
Outpost VFX is now considered one of the premium visual effects providers globally and has grown to a peak global headcount of over 800 people. Over the years, the company has regularly collaborated with local educators including Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth, and has provided career pathways to their graduates, keeping many of them in the region.
